Hotel Pearly Grey Taking You To The EDGE

Hotel Pearly Grey (Perla Gris) is situated in the quiet town Callao Salvaje, Costa Adeje and away from the usual tourist resorts. In fact, this is a little distance up the coast but let me tell you, worth it! Why?  because you get the most stunning views available and less interruption, leaving you more time to relax.

If you love the idea of a holiday in the sun but away from the crowds, this is a perfect choice. The location is breathtaking with a rugged coastline and a restaurant fit for any romantic evening. With 112 self-catering (studios, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartments) in total, the hotel also offers an option for Half Board basis.

A short walk to the cove beach offers black sand and shelter in the rocks. If you do not mind black sandy beaches, you will be fine here at Callao Salvaje but to be honest, there are really good sun terraces to use at Pearly Grey and access to some stunning views.

My time at Pearly Grey allowed me to get a good feel for the place and immediately it felt warm and friendly. This is important to me and customer service is a must in any hotel. The staff are fabulous and will go that extra mile for guests. Always a friendly smile and watching them interact with the children was a nice little touch.

Walking around, it was good to find out that the swimming pool was heated as not all hotels offer this. The specific pool is for adults and children over 6 years old. An additional pool for younger ones is situated next to the play area.

On my arrival, it was good to see the Quo bar and restaurant in full swing and the relaxed atmosphere was filling up in the modern style lounge. Recently refurbished with nice tones of grey, silver and blues, the tasteful decor was comfortable, spacious and clean.

Hotels in which I have stayed in usually request a charge for the luxury Bali Beds plus any drinks, food added to the cost. What was a nice touch at Pearly Grey was the luxury Bali Bed was available FREE to individuals or couples if you purchased any food or drink for €30 or more! now, this may seem a lot but after you have a few cocktails, light lunch or snack, this is a good offer for a full day of luxury sunbathing. Fabulous way to top up your tan or read a book and sip cocktails for a perfect stress-free holiday.

With plenty of facilities to take advantage, including a gym, hair & beauty salon, bowls, table games, internet kiosk, you have everything you need to stay on the complex. Even a laundrette for families. The management has carefully thought about what to provide guests from Live Sports shown in the bar area to take away service available for guests who want to eat in the comfort of their rooms! Ideal for families and flexibility of your holiday arrangements.

What extra feature stood out to me about Pearly Grey?

Without a doubt, one of the most amazing experiences was to wait for the sun to go down and watch it slowly disappear into the horizon. Standing on the hotel restaurant ‘The Edge’ was a perfect spot to witness one of mother nature’s gifts to us all. Perfect for photographers or those who want to sit, sip a drink and see day move into the night. Now if you were staying at a hotel in the middle of the popular resorts, you would miss this opportunity. Here, you have it available every night.

The sudden changes in the colours of the sky as the sun is going down casts beautiful reflections onto The Edge restaurant. Within minutes, the experience has disappeared and you are left standing there feeling totally in awe of it all. Who could not like watching the sun go down? Simply perfect!

That’s not all about the hidden secrets of Pearly Grey. If you are staying there or you want to sample some really great food, then The Edge restaurant is definitely a recommendation of mine. The chef and staff are truly talented and the food is absolutely first class. Each dish is carefully prepared and presented to diners and the selection has something for everyone.

The Edge restaurant would be a perfect choice for Valentines night or a special occasion. You would need to book a table early to catch the sun go down and then enjoy a romantic evening or celebration with family and friends.

Joining me for an evening of good food and conversation, was John Beckley from Tenerife Magazine. You can find more about Tenerife on the link  http://www.tenerifemagazine.com/

Talented Mark Smith who has spent several months in Tenerife and producing some brilliant photographs and videos was a real pleasure to meet. You can find Mark’s profession work on his Facebook link https://www.facebook.com/marksmithpromotions/

It was fabulous to eventually meet another Tenerife blogger, Lynne Knightly who shares the same passion as me. We are both looking forward to many more visits to this wonderful Island. You can find more about Lynne’s work on her Facebook page link https://www.facebook.com/totaltenerifeblog/

Keeping us entertained was Lynne’s son and Vinney (John’s budding future star).

The only person missing was talented Simon Emilio Turkas who had flown back to the UK for Christmas. Next time Simon as you were a huge miss! You can find more about Simon and his work on https://twitter.com/simonturkas?lang=en

There is music provided to keep the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. Husband and wife duo band (Obsession) kept the mood high with soft songs and the tone nice to ensure you could have a good conversation over your meal. Not overpowering but just right.

Ray Davies, the former member of Mungo Jerry in the late 70’s had certainly not lost his touch. Talented Chris Crook entertained us with soft melodies and sax. The couple has been playing music around the world and has certainly got a long history of talented years.  You can read more about Ray and Chirs on their website http://obsessionduo.co.uk/about

It was one of the perfect nights of my holiday with the amazing views, stunning sunset, top class food, great entertainment and fabulous company. So looking forward to going back here again!

If you want to hire a car for the duration of your holiday, I would highly recommend a local company in Callao Salvaje Poul’s Auto. The family-owned business has been trading for many years and is really good at meeting guest’s expectations when it comes to car rental. You can book this option either by the link on Pearly Grey website or direct http://www.poulsauto.com

You can arrange for collection of your vehicle from the South or North airport so feel free to check them out as they are situated within throwing distance of the hotel. Perfect if you are staying at Pearly Grey.

It was certainly a really memorable time visiting Pearly Grey Hotel and The Edge restaurant and hopefully, this blog post has offered you a little flavour of what to expect if you are considering booking. The hotel has special offers and if you want to find out more, feel free to visit http://www.pearlygrey.com
