A question which I frequently get asked is what hotel would I recommend in Tenerife. This is not an easy question to answer as there are so many fabulous choices to offer and it depends on what the person is looking for. To me, getting the right hotel makes your holiday complete so it is wise to do your research and ask questions.
When it comes to recommending a family hotel, well Hotel Isabel in Fanabe, Costa Adeje has to be one of the top ones on my list. Hopefully, you will agree with me once you have seen what they offer and the standard of accommodation and food that is available to guests.
This wonderful village type complex offers guest the true experience of typical Canarian style buildings. I was totally overwhelmed when I first arrived at this gorgeous hotel and that was just at the sheer size of the place. Even the little streets (calles) have their own names attached to the walls.
From the higher level family apartments, there are some amazing views towards the sea and mountains. You have it all really and the hotel is situated in a perfect location with less than 5 minutes walk to the beach.
Guests have an option to book either an apartment type room, bungalow or a villa style with a mini Jacuzzi (photograph above shows a villa style). Either type, the orange theme and decor are carried out the same throughout the rooms. They were spotlessly clean and spacious, with facilities for self-catering which is important to keep food available for the family.
The blocks of buildings are surrounded by small green gardens and shrubs which offer a homely feel to the place. It is a really pretty little village type hotel and perfect for all families.
The hotel offers 3 heated swimming pools (one pool is designed for small children under 5 years old with slides). There is also a quieter pool to chill out and a family pool.
There is so much to do on the site and lots of entertainment for the children. The hotel offers basketball, football and mini-golf, pool tables, ping-pong and video game consoles. The complex also has an internet cafe, diving centre, gym, laundrette, mini-supermarket, barbers and playground. This is not including the children’s club and live entertainment. The time I was visiting, the guests were enjoying some aerobics in the pool which looked great fun!
Around the complex, you will have the use of the facilities of jacuzzies and a solarium on the rooftop.
Hotel Isabel offers a smoothie bar which is perfect for a cold fruit drink, with or without alcohol! Note that this service is chargeable, even if you are all inclusive but hey, you’re on holiday so have some fun.
One of the most impressive parts of this hotel was the food and the presentation. Being in the restaurant prior to it opening to the guests, I saw how much work went into preparing the food. These people work around the clock and to such a tight routine. What amazing staff and the chef is brilliant. The selection of food and quality was one of the best that I have seen or ate at a hotel in Tenerife.
I cannot praise the restaurant enough as it certainly stood out and was a winner for me. It was a warm, inviting and friendly place which we all hope to get when we are on holiday. Spotlessly clean and the staff were very attentive to their guests.
The hotel has a children’s food corner where they can get pizza, chips, chicken nuggets and to finish off the meal, there are 2 chocolate fountains to indulge in the pleasure of eating your fruit. What more could you ask for?
Hotel Isabel is definitely a hotel with a difference but it will cater for your family needs. Their attention to their guests are really impressive and it is lovely to see a hotel which prides their services to all the family. It was a wonderful experience to see this beautiful hotel and to meet the people who make this happen on a day to day basis, throughout the year. Without you all, this hotel would not be what it is.
